Start Strong assessments are brief tests designed to maximize instruction time and quickly provide important data to teachers and administrators.  These assessments provide schools the flexibility to address students’ unique needs at the beginning of the school year.  Start Strong assessments will be administered to all 7th and 8th grade students in the areas of English Language Arts and Mathematics. Tests are approximately 45-60 mins for each content area.   Start Strong Science will not be administered at RDMS as it is specific to grades 6, 9, and 12.

The Start Strong assessments utilize 3 performance levels (Strong Support May be Needed, Some Support May be Needed, Less Support May be Needed) to aid educators and families in making decisions about the supports students need.
